Background:

Founded in 1956, Warden Park school is situated in the village of Cuckfield on the outskirts of Haywards Heath. The main building is surrounded by 28 acres of playing fields and hard play areas with views of the South Downs and West Weald. About 40 per cent of the school's students come from Haywards Heath, Cuckfield and villages to the west, while the remainder travel considerable distances from further afield. Transport is available across the school's widespread admissions area. Classroom teaching takes place in suites of subject rooms. Recent changes include a new mathematics building, top class facilities for modern languages and ICT and a new sports centre. Extra-curricular activities include music tuition, many day and residential visits, the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, annual drama and musical productions and clubs ranging from judo and Red Cross to Latin. School teams play football, rugby, cricket, basketball and athletics in addition to many other sports. The school aims to create a warm and open atmosphere that encourages young people to grow in confidence and to work hard.
