Background:
Oakmeeds Community College is situated near to the town centre on a 30-acre site with playing fields and hard play areas offering facilities for a range of sports. In 1982, it became a community school with responsibility for adult education and youth activities in Burgess Hill as an extension of the education offered to children between the ages of 11-16. It has a wide range of extra-curricular activities including newspaper club, computer club, technology club and a range of opportunities to learn new languages. The national curriculum covers the following subjects: English, mathematics, science, French, German, technology, history, geography, art, music, physical education, religious education, drama, information and communication technology and business education. The college aims to develop the intellectual, spiritual, physical, social and aesthetic potential of all pupils.
