Background:

Has existed since 1973 on east side of Horsham; serves town and surrounding villages; many girls from very wide area; waiting lists for all year-groups; over-subscribed, with 1.3 applications per place. Main school building supplemented by lower-school building, separate music block and mathematics block; each department has own suite of rooms. All pupils take 10 subjects at GCSE; and nine in 10 continue education after 16. School 'promotes a positive ethos of courtesy, co-operation, caring, and commitment and students are expected to exercise personal responsibility, to be well-motivated and involved'. School encourages girls not only to achieve their potential, but also to set sights high and explore career paths that are not traditionally female.
