Background:
Loxwood Primary School is a rural primary school with origins in 19th century. School buildings were opened in 1967 and it is seen as the centre of village. From April 2002, the school became a 'Rural Access Point' for 'The Weald Adult Education Department'. It has full ICT suite facilities for the children's use during school time which is positioned in the group room. These facilities are available to local adults and family groups during the evenings.French is taught throughout the school including the reception class. It provides wide a range of after-school activities run mainly by staff and have success in football, netball and cricket. The school has excellent community links with supportive parents, parent teacher association and governors. The school has won Investor in People status (2003) and DfES achievement award (2000, 2001, 2002). 'Family and community ethos based firmly on mutual respect'.
