Background:
Handcross Primary School was built in 1878. It has a beautiful, well-resourced environment that provides many opportunities to extend academic, social and environmental development, both within and outside curriculum time. The school building is well equipped with a wide variety of resources, including at least two computers to each classroom. It has a large, purpose-built library/quiet study area and a separate ICT area. All children have the opportunity of learning a chosen musical instrument taught by a member of the county music support staff. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include football, netball, cricket, hockey and rugby. The school aims to create a stimulating atmosphere where knowledge and understanding grow out of challenging activity.
