Background:

Founded in 1672 by Gilbert Hannam in the centre of historical Midhurst, the school has a long and proud tradition and is now a successful co-educational comprehensive school with a consistently high university entry from its thriving sixth form. The school curriculum covers the following subjects: art, business studies, drama, food technology, German, graphics, history, geography, learning support programme, leisure and tourism, music, physical education, product design, psychology, religious studies and textiles. Facilities include a well stocked library, which opened in 1996 as a learning and resources centre. A full programme of major and minor sports and team games are played including athletics, basketball, gymnastics, hockey, netball, football, cricket, tennis, badminton, stoolball, cross-country. The school offers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including drama, music, bee-keeping, computing, special mathematics, art and design, technology, and outdoor pursuits such as sailing, climbing, canoeing and Ten-Tors in Dartmoor.
