Background:

Georgian Gardens Community School is a purpose-built building opened in 1991. This splendid school has carpeted classrooms and corridors and is resourced with new furniture and equipment. The red brick building is constructed around a quadrangle. A recent building programme has provided an additional large room for activities such as dance, drama and music. The school has also created a very modern ICT suite with 16 computer stations and up to date related equipment. The school is surrounded by playing fields with a variety of mature trees on the perimeter. A wide range of sporting clubs and teams are run by staff and outside coaches. These have included netball, football, rounders, tennis, gymnastics and athletics. Educational visits are often arranged to support the learning that takes place within the classroom. This school has also achieved the following awards: DfES achievement award in 2003, Investor in People, Artsmark Gold and Activemark Gold. The school aims to create a trusting and caring environment.
