Background:

Felbridge Primary School founded in 1783. It is the oldest school in Surrey still using the original buildings. This project for expansion of the building was started in May 1993 and completed in July 1994. The remodelled school provides excellent accommodation for 210 pupils. This includes seven classrooms, a hall, two libraries, a music room, a technology area, an ICT Suite, a resources area, an administrative area and a school kitchen. The re-established grounds include a playing field, two playgrounds, and a climbing frame over a safety surface, a quiet area, an environmental area, a small wood and a learner swimming pool. The school provides various extra-curricular activities, which include aerobics, chess, computer, cookery, country dancing, cross-country, football, netball, cricket, rounders and orchestra. The school aims to develop the full potential of each child by creating a stimulating and challenging learning environment which recognises individual needs and promotes a balance of academic, physical, social and spiritual development. Within this environment the school strive to foster confidence, excellence, a sense of responsibility and an enthusiasm for life.
