Background:

Baldwins Hill Primary School is situated in a suburb on the northern edge of East Grinstead. Housing in the area is a mixture of Victorian and modern buildings. The school itself is situated in recently refurbished accommodation. Some of this accommodation dates back to 1898 and houses some of the classrooms and administrative areas. The school grounds have play areas, gardens, a playground and a field that abuts the local secondary school, Imberhorne School. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is embedded throughout the school's curriculum, administration and management systems. The school won the Becta ICT in Practice award 2003 for strategic leadership in ICT (primary) and is involved with the National College of School Leadership in the delivery of their strategic leadership in ICT programme for headteachers. The school has one computer for every three children, inter-active whiteboards in every classroom and uses digital video in teaching and learning.
